Joe Biden doesn’t want to hand over this smoking gun about his cognitive decline

Mar 1, 2024

Joe Biden was able to keep the truth about his condition hidden for years.

But not anymore.

And now Joe Biden doesn’t want to hand over this smoking gun about his cognitive decline.

Republicans subpoena transcript of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Joe Biden

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) issued a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland announcing that they were subpoenaing the transcript for Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interviews with Joe Biden on October 8 and 9 of 2023.

Hur investigated Biden for stealing classified documents dating back to when he was a United States Senator.

In the report, Hur said he wouldn’t recommend charges against Biden in part because his cognitive decline rendered him too mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Comer and Jordan said the Justice Department’s obstruction left them no choice but to issue a subpoena.

“On February 16, the Department responded, failing to produce any of the requested material and stating instead that it was ‘working to gather and process’ responsive documents,” Jordan and Comer wrote. “The Department, however, offered no timeframe by which it expected to make any productions or, indeed, any commitment that it would produce all of the material requested.”

Hur report details Biden’s cognitive decline

In his report, Hur wrote that prosecutors would have to prove Biden knowingly retained classified documents in order to convict him.

Hur said that the jury would see Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” and acquit him.

He backed up his assertion with two concrete examples of Biden’s senility.

The first was when Biden couldn’t remember when he was Vice President.

“In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse,” Hur wrote. “He did not remember when he was Vice President, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 — when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’).”

The second came when Biden couldn’t even estimate a range for the year when his son Beau died.

“He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died,” Hur added.

Biden then attacked Hur by claiming he had no business asking him when his son passed away.

However, NBC News raised new questions about his cognitive functions by reporting that it was Biden – and not Hur – who first mentioned Beau’s death.

Biden allies attacked Hur’s report as gratuitous and partisan.

But if the transcript and recordings of the interviews showed that Hur misrepresented Biden’s cognitive recall, then the White House would have rushed them out to the public.

The White House didn’t do that.

Instead, the administration fought tooth-and-nail to keep them secret.

And that can only be due to the fact Biden’s allies know the transcripts are even more damning than the report.
