Donald Trump said these six Republicans are on his shortlist for Vice President

Donald Trump will likely wrap up the GOP Presidential nomination by mid-March.

The next question becomes who Trump wants with him on the ticket as his running mate.

And now Donald Trump said these six Republicans are on his shortlist for Vice President.

At a town hall event in South Carolina, Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Trump about who he was considering as his Vice Presidential selection.

Ingraham asked Trump about six possible choices – South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and Florida Congressman Byron Donalds.

“Are they all on your shortlist?” Ingraham wondered.

Trump confirmed that this was indeed the case.

“They are,” Trump responded. “Honestly all of those people are good. They’re all good, they’re all solid.”

Trump noted that Scott was in attendance that night and praised him for being an advocate for his campaign.

“A lot of people are talking about that gentleman right over there,” Trump declared. “He’s been such a great advocate. I have to say this in a very positive way, Tim Scott, he has been much better for me than he was for himself. I watched his campaign, and he doesn’t like talking about himself. But boy does he talk about Trump. I called him and I said, ‘Tim, you’re better for me than you were for yourself.’”

Of all those choices, Scott would be the one Trump supporters hope he doesn’t pick.

Scott is the only one of the six who is a supporter of more money for Ukraine.

And Scott’s political persona and ideology is that of a Bush-era Republican, which is out of touch in today’s Republican Party.

Any of the other five candidates wouldn’t try to drag the GOP back to the past with support for foreign engagement and comprehensive immigration reform.

Trump picking DeSantis, Noem, Ramaswamy, Donalds, or Gabbard would cement that the GOP is a working-class conservative Party whose number one priority is securing the American border and taking care of this nation’s problems as opposed to inserting itself into one reckless foreign adventure after another.

It would also help Trump attract skeptical suburban voters who are not against Joe Biden but are unsure about giving him another chance.
