Kamala Harris hasn’t exactly scored rave reviews for her time as Vice President of the United States.
She was given an opportunity to fix a massive problem when she was named “Border Czar.”
And now Czar Harris is heading to a border state, but not for the reason you think.
A crisis at the U.S. southern border
According to the latest numbers from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, last month there were more than 250,000 “encounters” with illegal aliens along the southern border.
That is the highest number in recorded history for illegals crossing into the U.S. in the cold month of December.

Additionally, it is estimated there were another 65,000 “gotaways” – bringing the number up to about 315,000 illegals entering the country last month alone.
To put that in perspective, that would be like the entire population of Orlando crossing the border over the course of 31 days – and it’s happening nearly every month.
The December numbers mark the ninth straight month with at least 200,000 illegals entering America.
Since President Biden took the oath of office and through December of this year, about 6 million illegal aliens have crossed the U.S. southern borders — a crisis of epic proportions.
Of that, about 3.5 million illegally came to America since the start of 2022.
The news comes on the heels of the President finally visiting the southern border for the first time in his two years in office.
Biden played down the crisis and put the blame on Republicans, insisting that a pathway to citizenship for illegals would somehow stop the surge of migrants flooding into America.
VP Harris to the Rescue? Not so much . . .
And now, Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris – who he named “Border Czar” back in 2021 – is making her second visit to a border state in a year’s time.
But it’s not to see the problems along the border, or to talk to border agents.
No, instead she’s attending a groundbreaking ceremony for a “green” energy company.
Why try to solve a problem impacting directly or indirectly every single American, when you can spend that time celebrating the advancement of the woke agenda with full pomp and circumstance?
The Veep is going to Tonopah, Arizona – about 100 miles away from the southern border with Mexico.
Despite being about an hour and a half drive away, there is no stop at the border scheduled.
Fox News is reporting Harris’ day will be spent at a groundbreaking of a 125-mile-long transmission line that will transport wind and solar energy through the area.
She’ll be joined by Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and National Climate Adviser Ali Zaidi.
Together, the plan is to brag about the Biden administration’s investment in so-called “clean energy.”
When in doubt, blame Republicans
Recently, Harris has stuck to her line of, “nothing to see here, folks,” regarding the border, insisting there is no problem – while at the same time blaming Republicans for the problem she says doesn’t exist.
“The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed,” Harris said to NBC News’ Chuck Todd recently. “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation.”
Harris says the system was broken under President Donald Trump, however, the worst month during Trump’s four years in office saw about 144,000 encounters at the border – far lower than an average month under Biden.
But Harris knows there is a large amount of unrest among American citizens about the crisis on the U.S. southern border – and she’s eager to shift blame.
“Sadly, what we have seen in particular, I am sad to say, from Republicans in Congress is an unwillingness to engage in any meaningful reform that could actually fix a lot of what we are witnessing,” Harris told NPR.
Amnesty for the estimated at least 15 million illegals currently in the United States – who cost Americans about $132 billion annually according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform – won’t in any way act as a magnet attracting more migrants to cross our border illegally in the future.
