Donald Trump said two words that handed the Deep State this stinging defeat

Ever since Donald Trump won the 2016 election, rogue agents within the Deep State have fought to sabotage him.

But Trump just exacted a big piece of revenge.

And Donald Trump said two words that handed the Deep State this stinging defeat.

Donald Trump calls on Republicans to oppose Joe Biden’s warrantless wiretapping program

Trump set off a political earthquake by calling on Republicans to reject a bill supported by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) that would rubber stamp the illegal, warrantless wiretapping program that Barack Obama used to spy on him during the Russian-collusion hoax.

“KILL FISA, IT WAS ILLEGALLY USED AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHERS. THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN!!!” Trump wrote.

Johnson caved in to the Deep State and supported a bill reauthorizing Section 702 of FISA, which allows the government to unlawfully spy on American citizens without first obtaining a warrant.

Conservatives heeded Trump’s call.

19 conservatives voted against the rule Johnson tried to bring up, which essentially tanked the bill.

Republicans oppose Johnson’s surrender to the Deep State

Conservatives in Congress blew up Johnson’s warrantless wiretapping bill because it lacked two key reforms that would give the legislation real teeth.

First, conservatives ripped the bill because it lacked a critical provision requiring the government to obtain a warrant to spy on American citizens.

Multiple Republicans cited this as their reason to oppose the bill.

“I voted no on FISA. As written, there was no warrant requirement to spy on Americans. It also created a carve out for members of Congress to be notified by the FBI. I won’t be manipulated into voting to infringe on civil liberties,” Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) wrote.

Florida Republican Greg Stuebe cited a similar rationale by posting on X that “My vote against FISA today was not…unwarranted. FISA is in major need of reform in order to protect the liberties of Americans and I wasn’t going to green light this terrible bill.”

But just as important, the legislation lacked an amendment from Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) that prevented the government from purchasing American’s communications from third party vendors.

Mike Johnson refuses to admit defeat

In a move that could imperil his speakership, Johnson poked his thumb in Trump’s eye and claimed this was only a temporary setback and that he would be plowing ahead with another attempt to allow Joe Biden to illegally spy on American citizens without a warrant.

“We will regroup and reformulate another plan. We cannot allow Section 702 of FISA to expire. It’s too important to national security. I think most of the members understand that,” Johnson declared during a press gaggle. “It’s never helpful for the majority party to take down [rule votes]. It weakens our hand in negotiations with the Senate and the White House, and so it’s not a good development.”

This could be the final nail in Johnson’s coffin.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced a motion to vacate the chair and remove Johnson as Speaker of the House.

Greene has yet to call for a vote on her motion.

But Johnson opposing Trump and siding with the Deep State on illegal domestic spying could not only push Greene to call for a vote but also spur frustrated conservatives to support the move to oust Johnson.
